What we're looking for

Source.ag is a fast-growing, highly purpose-driven organization, on a mission to provide more people with fruit and vegetables without breaking our planetary boundaries. We understand that it’s the people that make our company, so we take our people & culture strategy very seriously. We’re in the process of scaling up from our current 20 employees to about 50 this year. That's why we're looking for an experienced Head of People & Culture to join us and help us with this journey. Your focus will be a mix of HR strategy and hands-on people operations. As our first Head of People & Culture, you will build the foundation for our People strategy. You know all about the employee lifecycle and leading people. You get energized by building high-performing organizations, amazing cultures, world-class people processes & policies, and making a positive contribution to a better planet.

What you will do

As Head of People and Culture, you will set up the HR department and build a rock-star HR team, initially consisting of a Talent Acquisition Manager and an HR Officer. You will be part of the management team and you’ll report directly to our CEO, with whom you’ll collaborate closely to build a world-class company.

Your 4 main responsibilities:

1) HR team

  • Recruit top tier HR professionals and build a world-class HR team

  • Set up, improve, and execute critical HR and admin processes

  • Select, procure and implement HR Information System (HRIS)

2) People

  • Define and implement team and organizational design solutions, providing measurable performance indicators, and improvement plans

  • Evaluate, define and implement optimal ways of working (agile processes)

  • Design, implement and run a performance management system and process

  • Evaluate, define and implement the right reward and benefits strategy

  • Be the HR partner for the business on all people related topics

  • Collaborate with the CEO on overall HR strategy and top-level people topics

  • Ensure high employee satisfaction and retention

  • Define and implement learning and development initiatives

  • Own the people topic in leadership discussions to ensure alignment of HR delivery with our business planning and impact goals

3) Growth

  • Define and own the overall hiring strategy, ensuring the company attracts the right people at the right time to execute on our purpose and business goals

  • Prepare the company for further scaling, setting us up for success for future growth

  • Ensuring effective onboarding of new employees in a fast-growing organization

  • Supports managers and teams in achieving their goals by helping them recruit the best people and enhancing the team’s capability to work together effectively

4) Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion

  • Collaborate with the business for the creation of a high-performance culture

  • Maintain effective employee relations and be the pulse of the organization for management and CEO

  • Build and safeguard an awesome culture

  • Build and maintain a diverse and inclusive organization

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources related leadership roles (for example as HR Manager or HR Business Partner) with a proven track record

  • Knowledge of the Dutch labor system and regulations

  • You know how to attract, assess, and retain top talents and how to build and execute a successful people strategy.

  • You enjoy the mix of strategy and getting things done

  • Familiarity with agile processes such as sprints and quarterly plannings

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organizational skills.

  • Fluent in English and preferably Dutch.

Bonus points

  • You have experience in building an HR department from scratch

  • You are familiar with the dynamic of a fast-growing scale-up

  • You have an affinity with technology and/or agriculture
