Source.ag is on a mission to produce more fresh fruits and vegetables for more people, without breaking planetary boundaries, through A.I. powered greenhouses. We are making greenhouses more scalable by developing the world’s most advanced artificial grower.
As Communications Manager you will develop, drive and execute our communications strategy and help to bring Source’s story to the masses. You will have the opportunity to tell impactful stories about why and how we are changing the global food system, while you’ll help build our internal culture.
We're a rapidly growing, purpose-driven startup with a strong point of view on how we should change the way we grow fresh produce. You will play a key role in determining how we effectively communicate our vision both internally and externally, by advocating, educating, and inspiring different stakeholders.
You will report to our VP of Communications and Public Affairs, with whom you’ll collaborate closely to drive public attention to what we do, build momentum for the indoor farming industry and make sure what we say externally and internally is aligned.

Your key responsibilities are:
Media relations
  • Develop an international press strategy (with a focus on Europe and the US) with key moments and compelling story angles
  • Build relationships with leading business, trade, and tech publications. Educate them about Source, greenhouse agriculture, and the role it can play in the global food system
  • Prepare briefing materials and manage spokespeople as necessary
Internal communications
  • Develop an internal communications plan (together with VP of Comms and Head of People) to enable strategic alignment and employee engagement in our fast-growing team.
  • Own the implementation of the internal communication plan and calendar, in close collaboration with our People team.
  • Drive our employer branding strategy and plan, in close collaboration with our People Team.
Marketing communications
  • Develop a marketing plan (together with our business development team) to drive awareness of our proposition and products
  • Work with different teams to develop, write and edit communications and marketing materials, including website copy, case studies, blog posts, and bylines.
  • Distribute and promote our content through appropriate (social media and marketing) channels.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or similar

  • 4+ years of experience in external communications (in-house or agency experience), including developing strategic communications strategies

  • Experience with media relations across technology, business, and consumer publications

  • Experience or affinity with (content) marketing and social media, preferably for a B2B company

  • You are allowed to work in the Netherlands (work permit or EU citizen)

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to think quickly, pivot when necessary, and thrive in fast-moving environments

  • Ability to work in a collaborative way and be an effective team player with high standards for quality and detail.

  • Experience or affinity with technology, food/ agriculture, sustainability space

  • You have worked within an international environment (clients, markets, companies)
